my dvd drive says I have files currently on disc, when the disc is blank. how do I delete these files
Deleting data from your DVD depends on the type of DVD If it is re-writable then you
can delete the data from it easily. Insert the DVD-RW into the DVD drive and as it
reads your DVD, open your DVD drive. Right-click on the drive and you will see
the option to erase data.
Exactly what kind of disk is it? Where did you get it?
What program says the disk has files? What files does
it say are on the disk?

Where are you getting the info from? Are there files on the disc or files waiting to be burned to the disc? If the disc is a DVD-R & there are files on it, they only way to remove them would be to smash the disc & use another. If it's a DVD-RW, the files can be removed, but we need a better explanation of what's going on.
