Driver not valid?

I downloaded a modem driver for my friend and copied it to CD. When my friend tried to access it, a message comes up that "the file is not a valid Win32 application". I don't understand this because the driver was downloaded directly from the manufacturers website, Apache-Micro Peripherpals. The driver is for the A56SP-RS modem. The driver file is 6MB, which seems large for a driver. It's probably a set up file. The modem is the Sevelsoft K56 Data/Fax/Voice/Speakerphone PCI modem. Anyone know where to get a driver for this modem? Thanks.

If the driver is installed on the host go to CNET.COM and obtain a DRIVERMAX PROGRAM AND LET THE DRIVER MAX DO A SEARCH note cnet supplies virus free sotware and driver max has a free and a pro version works well with outdated drivers for upgrades and find drivers for unknown programs
