Specs: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium, 2.891 GHz / 2045 MB
I can't install the creative drivers for the x-fi Ti Pro PCIe on my Win7 rig. I did everything:

pulled old sb xtreme gamer. booted in safe mode, used driver sweeper, installed the Creative Product ID module update. Then, when I try to install the Creative drivers, I get an error stating that a newer driver version is already installed. The device shows up as a "High Definition Audio Device" and using Msoft drivers.

If I uninstall those drivers they get re-installed at system boot. Creative system info looks good and the product registers with Creative, but all creative apps exit because they don't see the device.

Yes... way back for the xtreme gamer pci. The weird thing is that looking at devices by connection, under PCI Express Root Port 1, there are 4 entries under HDAC and they refer to NVIDIA HDA (wth?):

Intel(R) processor PCI Express Root Port 1 - D138
....High Definition Audio Controller
........NVIDIA High Definition Audio
........NVIDIA High Definition Audio
........NVIDIA High Definition Audio
........NVIDIA High Definition Audio
....NVIDIA GeForce GTS 450
........SyncMaster P2450H(Digital)

I have the Asus P7P55D Deluxe with the GTS 450 in the top PCIex16 slot and the X-fi in the 3rd slot (PCIEX1_2).

Well after uninstalling the NVIDIA HDA devices, Win7 just loads t "High Definition Audio Device" all 5 of them, under Sound video and game controllers:

[-] Sound, video and game controllers
........High Definition Audio Device
........High Definition Audio Device
........High Definition Audio Device
........High Definition Audio Device
........High Definition Audio Device

I try to submit a customer support request to Creative, but the website app is hung-up on the email address i give it. States that it does not match... does not match what? It's a single field and the same email address that I used to register the product...

The PCI xtreme gamer I am replacing worked fine, w/o a hitch or hiccup - ever...

Very disappointing to see Creative screw up so badly.

Got the problem fixed - 100% Creative problem with software distribution and drivers.

Looks like they have a consultant working on the problem, who has put together another s/w distribution CD. If anyone needs it you can find it here:

SB X-Fi PCI Install Disc 1.0 (unofficial)

Download all these files and run. It will want to burn a CD for you so have all that ready to go.

[-] Sound, video and game controllers
........Creative SB X-Fi
........High Definition Audio Device
........High Definition Audio Device
........High Definition Audio Device
........High Definition Audio Device

BTW: there is a post in the thread requesting just the driver cut out of the distribution - that did not work for me. I had to burn the CD and go through the installation.
