Solved Can't find XP audio driver for Toshiba Satellite C580

Specs: Windows XP Home, 2.793 GHz / 2 GB
I've installed Windows XP Professional on this new laptop. Brand is Toshiba, Model C850 PSKC8A-04G00S. Toshiba only have Windows 7 drivers on there website. I downloaded all drivers from there and tried them, some worked, some didn't, I had to find The Graphics, Ethernet and Wireless drivers from manufacturer websites. But is no listing on Toshiba website for a audio driver, so thought was part of chipset driver. That driver installed properly. But didn't install an audio device. Is no yellow quotation marks in device manager. So I'm stumped, dunno where to look. Chipset is Intel HM76.

Anyone got a suggestion for me to try?

It's always wise to check the driver situation with the PC or laptop manufacturer before downgrading the OS, as only they have the custom drivers to match the custom hardware. These custom drivers aren't available anywhere else.

I suggest you put the factory installed OS back on the machine if possible.

✔ Best Answer
Easiest solution is to use a USB Sound Card, though Intel do not even support the Chipset under XP, so it will always be comprimised in regards to drivers:

Best solution is to go reinstate Windows 7 and use XP in a Virtual Machine.
