Can't find driver updates, nothing on the internet has help

June 11, 2012 at 14:12:01
Specs: Windows XP Home Edition, Intel(R)Celeron(R)CPU.2.66GHZ
i have a zoostorm 7910-1010 pc with windows xp home edition installed to it, basically hoping to improve the speed, run games and watch videos! i have tried to find out the creator of the graphics drivers, but its a 'vgasave' and all the other information is unknown, so i can't update to windows 7 (if it would help) or anything safely really! would really appreciate it if someone could advise me on how to update my drivers (or buy a new card if necessary, and if so which one) just to improve the quality of the pc!

To find out the hardware of the PC, download, install and run HWINFO32:

http://www.hwinfo.com

To upgrade to Windows 7 you would run the Upgrade Advisor:

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/...

Googling is quicker than waiting for an answer....

thankyou, i already tried to use the upgrade advisor, and it said my drivers wouldnt be compatible with windows 7, so i figured i should update them first. the Hwinfo was very useful, i have a samsung SP0842N but iam still completely clueless on how to update, where the updates could come from, googling has been useless! iam perfectly happy to get a new graphics card but i have no idea how to know if its compatible! any help would be appreciated.

HWINFO informs of hardware, what you listed is just the hard drive.

The upgrade does not say your drivers are not compatible, it states that you need a Windows 7 32bit or 64bit driver ( though you can use Vista drivers ) depending on the version of Windows 7

Windows XP drivers are just not compatible with Windows 7 so no need to upgrade first. You need to ascertain whether or not your hardware has Windows 7 drivers, period, then back up you data and start with a fresh install of Windows 7 if drivers are available.

You seem to have interpreted the information incorrectly !!
