Specs: Windows XP Professional version 2002, Intel Pentium Dual CPU/1.75 GB Ram
Windows Vista went bonkers.........reformatted drive c and installed old version of windows xp professional. (It is a litgit Disk) Computer works great but need drivers for the ethernet controller etc. Can't install from a CD because I can't connect to the internet to download the needed service paks to update windows. Can't even connect via a wireless router and network. Am trying to download service pak 1 to begin with via another computer and putting it on cd. propbably won't copy to a cd because file is probably too long. Any other suggestions?

Can you download the correct ethernet drivers for it on the other computer and then put them on a disk or usb drive to install on the PC

My name is JRComp, and I approve this message.

Got a link to download Driverrobot to scan 'non connected' pc and then 'export' that info to a usable interneting pc - downloaded the drivers needed, copied back onto a cd then installed on 'non connected' pc - VOILA! Works! Thinking I could do the same with the 'internet connecting pc' I tried the scan there but instead of being directed to download updates for those drivers it then ask for money. Of course it would be worth it but I accomplished what I needed for the other pc. Thanks for your suggestion of putting the needed drivers on cd and then transferring them to the other pc. Sorry if I'm too confusing....................just glad the pc is now usable with the internet!
