Specs: Windows 8.1, Celeron/2Gb
I bought a Lenovo B41-30 laptop with Windows 10 pre-installed.
Not keen on Windows 10, I installed Windows 8.1 with dual-boot.
There's no Windows 8.1 Realtek audio driver update from Lenovo, only Windows 10 update.
Can I install that?
Will Windows 8.1 tell me if its not compatible?

Celeron with just 2GB RAM? Pretty low end. Your laptop has 2 slots (one currently empty) & can accept up to 4GB per slot. Adding a 4GB stick will improve performance significantly.

As for Windows 8.1, it joins the list of Microsoft failures that includes Millennium & Vista. Less than 5% use it worldwide; in the US, the percentage is even lower.

If you insist on keeping it, the place to find Realtek audio drivers is at the Realtek website.

That's a better - and ssfer - site posted by rider for the download than the one I flagged up.

Sorry for delay fellas.

tivir - that site wasnt helpful but thanks anyway.

riider - its actually 4GB RAM. I downloaded & installed Windows 10 driver from that realtek site.
It made absolutely no difference as far as customising sounds like equaliser etc - same as in Windows 10.
Looks like its a very basic sound setup, Unlike the basic Lenovo Ideapad 100s I had before, which came with AC97 sound setup.

Life goes on...
