Specs: Windows 7
I have just purchased this laptop, and thought it had optical drive, then discovered it isn't an optical drive but looks like one, does anyone know if I could buy the optical drive and if it can be fitted on this laptop? I got it for my daughter for Christmas and would like the dvd player in it.

That model has been made slimmer than many other laptops, made possible by not fitting an optical drive, so retro-fitting one would not be possible since there's no empty bay to accept one, so neither is there a power/data connector for an internal optical drive.

The only option is to buy an external optical drive which plugs in to one of the laptop's USB ports. Some may require the use of two USB ports (they have two USB cables) to ensure sufficient power to drive the unit:

In future be sure to carefully read the specifications of any laptop before buying it. There is no mention of your purchased model having an optical drive on the manufacturer's product page:

You bought a used laptop without even knowing the model number? I hope you got it cheap because the reviews on that model aren't particularly good.

It appears an optical drive can be added. Here's a couple of links from Toshiba showing how it's done:
