Specs: Windows 7
I have a Barcode Scanner working perfect until two days ago, now each time I try to sinc give error ENABLE COMM PORT 1 OR FREE PORT AND RECONNECT.
The problem is the I can`t see any ports in device manager in order to reset, could be the cable of the scanner?.The rest of the USB port are ok Label printer ok postal scale ok,printer ok.
I bought another cable but not here yet, but I think the issue is in the drivers. Please help

Thank you

If you can't see any COM ports listed under Ports (COM & LPT) then the barcode scanner driver must evidently create a "virtual" COM/serial port and it's now missing because the driver needs re-installing.

Re-install the driver from the CD supplied with the barcode scanner. If you can't fimd the CD you can download the driver from the scanner manufacturer's website.

Hi Troyswift,

Yes I correct the issue, it was the cable of the scanner, I replaced and the scanner was able to sync and now is all good.
