After formatting a computer using Win XP, the computer is not able to play music. Error: No sound device found or sound not working properly.
Solutions:

1. Activate or start the Window audio under the services by right click on computer-manage-services and application – services ;and the right side there will be all the services double click on window audio if it is not started.
2. Go to start-run-type dxdiag(direct x diagnose) then the directdiag panel will appear and under sound take the device details and search for the device ID driver. Download and install it.
3. Use dxdiag to know the system Model and the system manufacturer which is actually the motherboard. Google it to find the driver of the motherboard.
4. Go to start – all programs – accessories – system tools – system information click and get the system Model and the system manufacturer which is actually the motherboard. Google it to find the driver of the motherboard.

Cheers, I hope one of them will work, why not the first.
