Solved ADATA Superior SH93 HDD not recognised on pc

September 14, 2013 at 06:24:49
Specs: Windows XP
My ADATA SH93 500GB HDD is not recognised on my laptop or main PC. The blue light comes on when connected by usb and the laptop makes a deep beeping noise when usb connected/disconnected but I cannot access any files or even read what is on there. It is recognised in the disk management but as unallocated space.
I obviously need to access my files on there as all my pics are on it and they are the most important thing to me so any help would be greatly appreciated

Firstly, you should never rely on just one hard drive to store valuable stuff. You need to store identical copies on a second hard drive, or even a third one if you can afford it.

Your ADATA external drive may have failed. Try testing it with SeaTools for Windows:

If all else fails, try to crack open the enclosure to remove the actual hard drive. Then buy another enclosure for it - any make will do.
