programming timeout limits

May 25, 2010 at 13:31:24
Specs: dos
My batch file is running a c# program that does an ftpwebrequest to prepare to ftp a file. Sometimes it hangs if the target does not respond.

How can I make my batch abend or timeout if it runs for 10 minutes or something. Either as I submit the whole batch, or in the batch right before the program is called.

Please help. Thanks.

Please help, if it's not possible that would even be helpful in a way. There's no way to timeout the execution of a batch file? Or to timeout the execution of an exe from a batch file? If you got anything, please let me know. Thanks.
