Solved PHK msdos file to PDF

September 3, 2016 at 13:58:45
Specs: MSDOS
I own a pipehawk GPR radar that works in MSDOS
I linked the msdos pc with an IBM win98 pc to transfer files.
The files i want to open in PDF mode are in an unknown file format
They are in PHK file format.
The Pipehawk company told me that i need a special software to convert these files to Pdf.
Is it possible to do it without paying their software?
im sending you a phk file and the pdf conversion of it.

The only reference to a phk file I could find was this:

https://www.filedesc.com/en/file/phk

and that doesn't look like it's what you have. PHK must be an abbreviation for piphawk and is probably something they thought up on their own.

Apparently those are their data files. I found one reference here:

http://www.pipehawk.com/files/1513/...

but nothing about converting.

Try viewing the file in notepad or other simple text editor. Notepad likely won't show any special formatting because it won't know how to read the file's formatting info but there's a good chance the data will show. I doubt they felt the need to 'reinvent the wheel' when they thought up these file types so it's probably similar to what notepad or early dos editors produced.

Hi Alex,

if Notepad does not work, try Wordpad.

Good Luck - Keep us posted.
