Specs: Win98's MS-DOS, Pentium 3 755MHZ 128MB RAM
Ok guys, so a few weeks ago a friend of mine gave me his old, old computer XD Its a Pentium 3 755Mhz with 138MB of memory and a gforce 4 MX440 that i personaly installed, well i of course have been messing arround with win98, but i got the suden urge to go into DOS reliving my childhood, im only 20 years old so im kinda intrigued by DOS, so i knew that win98 actualy is based on DOS system and im now running ms-dos that comes with the win 98 and i have been succesfully in getting thing running like usb, audio, c programing compilers, games etc, but i want to do more, i dont know maybe going online, checking those old IRC and stuff. I dont even know if thats still possible. But overall i want to make a good dos pc for entertaint and work (i dont know it just feels right making c programs on dos XD), so lets make list of what i wanted to do.

1º Audio Working - DONE
2º Program compilers - DONE for C
3º Other cool software you may sugest.
4º USB Access for flash drives - Kinda done i need something that isnt "DOSUSB" demo version.
5º Internet Access - Now this is the complicated one, let me explain ( I dont have a ethernet card on this PC all i have is a D-Link 302T, this modem (Yes its a modem) has a USB and a Ethernet plugs, what i did is plug the ethernet cable into my router/modem, and then the usb into the PC, on windows 98 i installed the USB drivers and thats it, i had internet, but i know that in ms-dos its complicated has the usb suport is very low, and trying to emulate a network card via usb on dos, thats just insane but some of you may know the answer.

I Know this is a long post and for that i apologize but im just trying to revive an old pc and OS that not many people use but i consider one of the best things ever invented on modern PC. So i Hope you can help me out and Thank you so much for reading this far.

Why DOS? Ever thought about giving a Linux distro a try?
It's free and has much better hardware support than DOS, as well as a wealth of enthusiasts support on the web.

"Why DOS? I dont know call it nostalgia, call it curiosity i have and interest on DOS right now."

Realize that what you have really isn't MS-DOS. It's the subsystem (kernel) of Win98, which has some significant differences from MS/PC-DOS. Microsoft hasn't made a "true" DOS since 6.22 (there was a brief run of 6.23-6.25 for the government as I recall) and IBM stopped with PC-DOS 7/2000.

No. MS/PC-DOS wasn't designed to handle more than 64MB of RAM. But you may be able to "hack" it (similar to what you're doing now):

The question then would be, what DOS game/app would you possibly use that would need that much RAM anyway (since none were made that expected more than 64MB)?
