MS-DOS 3.2 boot disk, origional

Specs: MS-DOS 3.2, 640KB
Hello, I have a Toshiba T1100 Plus and I do not have the MS-DOS 3.2 boot disk required to boot it up. I have copies of a MS-DOS 3.2 disk but these are unable to work. I would like to know if anyone has an original (not a copy) MS-DOS 3.2 floppy disk that they would be willing to give to me. If so, please send me a private message.

If anyone has orig those probably won't work either.

Try making fresh floppies & clean the drive.

When you try to boot, does the drive sound like the heads settle? Or does it just flail?

Does it give any msg on screen about loading?

Is the BIOS set ti the correct FD type?

1.44
1.2
3-mode

Is this a machine that requires 720K boot disks?

Yes it is the machine that requires 720K boot disks and I have used 720K disks. When I place one of the boot disks in the drive it makes a clicking noise as it opens the floppy disk, and another clicking noise that is repeated three times as it reads the floppy disk and the 'drive A disk in use' light lights up. The message that it displays is 'Place System Disk In drive, press any key when ready'. When I put the MS-DOS 3.2 disk in (copy, not an original) and press any key the drive reads the disk and and displays the message again.

I can't remember, does the 3.2 copy boot up in another PC? If not, the disk must be bad. If it does then the drive is likely the problem. That one I sent was a copy of an original 720 K disk with dos 3.2. It wasn't jury-rigged like some of the others.

Best I can do is send some more.

The only copy that works on another PC is the IBM 3.3 boot disk, the others don't work in another PC.

Yeah, I'll make some copies of the 3.2 and send them. When you get them try them on another computer first so you know they work. If the drive in the laptop is bad it can ruin a good disk with just one boot attempt.

I shall test them before I put them in the laptop drive, and if they don't work I shall test them again to see if the drive is the problem.
