Specs: Windows ME
how do I uninstall Bitdefender 10 from DOS in Windows Me? Regular Add/Remove Programs does not work. Downloaded countless free uninstallers and half are jokes that use original Add/Remove Utility and the other half lock up. Even tried Bitdefenders Uninstall tool, no luck. WMIC doesn't work in Me and TweakUI will only try to get rid of listing in Add/Remove. How do I uninstall Bitdefender 10 from the DOS level?

There is no DOS in WinME. And if you had checked ahead of time, BitDefender 10 doesn't support Win98/ME. I'm surprised it installed at all. In fact, there are few anti-v programs that suport Win98/ME anymore. Since it's not supported, the uninstaller probably isn't supported either. The only solution may be to wipe the drive & reinstall the OS from scratch. Did you try system restore?

By DOS level I assume you mean command line. This not DOS by any means.
A manual uninstall of a major application such as anti-virus product would be a daunting task, even for an expert. You should not even attempt it.

System Restore might be an option, although I have heard it didn't work very well in ME. A clean install of the OS might be your best option. When installing any software you must always endure it is compatible with your OS. This is particularly important with an old OS such as Windows ME.
