Specs: Windows XP
The title says it all. I want to access flash drives while using DOS 7.1. The "standard" methos using aspi files demands HCI compatible USB host. Must I buy a newer PC? This one is very early.

Check this old thread:

http://www.computing.net/answers/wi...

The link in my # 1 post there has been removed because idiots decided some priceless threads should be removed because they were old. But # 2 there identifies the dos drivers that worked. I'm thinking the autoexec.bat is just a standard one as the drivers are loading from config.sys.

You'll need to track down those particular files but a google search should turn them up. Also there's still stuff at bootdisk.com:

http://www.bootdisk.com/usb.htm

He talks of using windows ME dos which I think is sometimes called 7.1 but it won't matter since later dos versions will all act the same.
