That must be one heluva dos program.

The 2 gig partition size limit applies to all operating systems on FAT16 partitions, although earlier dos versions had their own limitations less than that.

If you want to run dos on a larger partition you need to use windows 98 dos or freedos or whatever other version can be installed on a FAT32 partition.

As mentioned, the partition (FAT16) limit for MS-DOS is 2.1GB. The "entire-drive" (Int13h Interface) limit is 8.4GB:

Also have to agree with DAVE and Skip, what DOS program could you possibly be using to need that much space?

Hi Ardiles,

I think the cause of your problem is that dos 6.22 cannot access/use a disk (or partion) that is larger than its addressing capabilities.

Thus it is unable to installl any program.

Also how is the disk formatted?
FATnn, NTFS, what - which may have a beariing.

Possibly dos cannot use FAT32 or NTFS.

Good Luck - Keep us posted.

Yeah, he has a problem other than the size of the program he wants to install. Since a week has passed with no response to our questions, I suspect he gave up, solved the problem or figgured out Crysis 2 wouldn't work in native DOS.

Hi Skip, rather disappointing after we try to help and then no response.

The op advised his os was WXP, which is unrelated to the query.

Where does crysis 2 come from?

Just speculating with Crysis 2 Mike. ;-)

Wondering why the name of the program is such a big secret. With some real information, we probably could solve his problem.
