If you changed the CMOS/BIOS battery, you'll have to enter the BIOS settings (method varies by machine) and input the drive types (including the hard-drive geometry).

CMOS & BIOS are used interchangeably, but CMOS (Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor) is a chip on the motherboard & BIOS (Basic Input/Output System) is the information stored on the chip. The CMOS chip requires power to it at all times to keep the BIOS info in memory. The battery is the backup power for when the system is shutdown or loses power. When the battery is removed, power is lost to the CMOS chip & its memory reverts to its factory defaults.

It appears one of your default settings is for a floppy drive (diskette A). If you don't have a floppy drive, you'll have to enter the BIOS setup menu & disable the floppy drive setting. You'll also have to correct the date/time & adjust any other settings that might be out of whack. Most OEM systems (Acer, Dell, HP, etc) have a more simplistic BIOS with minimal settings to adjust, but aftermarket motherboards, especially enthusiast boards, are much more complex.

Here's an example. If you don't have a floppy drive, the diskette A setting should be changed to "disabled".
