The minimize is for the CMD window, that will be opened by the batch file.
Why don't you simply use a link file to start firefox minimized, if needed.

Thanks for getting back to me I appreciate it. I was just wondering how to get the window minimized because I have 2 other apps I need minimized on startup. Is there a switch that I could put in a batch file to do that.

Create a link to each program, you need to run at startup from within a batch file and configure these links to start as minimized.
Then put these links into your batch file, instead of the program name itself.

Try this:

@ECHO OFF
start /min "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe"
@Exit

Check here:

http://www.robvanderwoude.com/exit.php

This would work if it was 9X:

@ECHO OFF
"C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe"
cls
@Exit

as the window needs to be blank for it to close. I'm not sure about XP's cmd.exe.

You're not really green until you're soylent green.

As paulsep suggested, but with a pair of double quotes just after the START command otherwise nothing works

@echo off
start "" /min "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe"
exit

The null double quotes fill the missing window title, a common itfall when the path/filename has to be embraced by double quotes.
