XP - inbuilt camera aperture fluctuation

Asus Eee pc 1005ha-pu17-bk netbook
August 20, 2010 at 14:40:57
Specs: Windows XP

I am working on a project which required a computer program tracking colour with use of the built in camera in my laptop running Windows XP.

When the camera detects movement or change, the aperture seems to be readjusting to allow a constant light level, but this is not good for me since the very thing I am after is for the light level and intensity/colour changes to affect the program when presented to the camera...

Any help appreciated

The camera driver is automatically adjusting the video gain. Some camera software may have manual settings. The only other suggestion is to use an external manually adjustable camera with an external interface and other software.
