Specs: Windows XP
Have a Seagate hard drive that was partioned c and d, c was set as ntfs, and d fat 32.
Unsure of what caused situation, but now drive is not accessible. Is recognized in bios, but not able to access either drive partion when internal or in usb enclosure.
Do not have backup of fat table to restore, any thoughts? have 10,000 to 30,000 images, many are of family members that can not be replaced.

re: so you are saying that windows does not load up using that drive?

I can see drive thru disk management, but shows as one entity, but not partioned nor "Alllocated" when I try to ma to the c or d drive, it responds that the device is not ready. Would there be an off the shelf application that would recover fat table and or index allowing access to the needed digital images.
many thanks

I'm still not quite sure of what you mean but have you taken ownership of the drive when it is connected via usb?
