I sent my sister a disc with pictures, it was taken from a Windows Vista file, she has Windows 7 and can't download the disc to her computer. Does anyone know how she can download the disc to her computer ?

"I sent my sister a disc with pictures..."

I gather you mean a CD or DVD. If so, did you finalize the disc after burning it? There really shouldn't be any problem reading a disc from WinVista to Win7 (or vice-versa). If the disc wasn't finalized, it would likely not read on any other machine besides your own.

"I sent my sister a disc with pictures, it was taken from a Windows Vista file"

Could you elaborate on that a little? what file did you take pictures from? What format were the pictures, IE jpg, bmp, png, etc?

Do you know what program she is trying to open them with (i.e.-Windows Picture/Fax viewer, IrfanView, XNView)? Did you verify the photos were there before you sent her the disc?

First things first. When she pops in the cd/dvd does her PC recognize it?
Does it show her the pics?
If so, she can make a folder on her desktop and then copy and paste them into the folder.

An easier way is for her to download Picasa from google. Install it and when the CD is inserted it will pop up asking what prog to use when importing. Tell her to choose picasa and also put a check mark in to say to ALWAYS use that program to import.

I would also mention that I use ONLY the windows Fax viewer as a preference...in that case i would have her uncheck use picasa viewer.

One more question, did you burn the CD on a mac or PC?

I don't know the program she is trying to open them with. Yes I did verify the pics were on the disc before they were sent. Anyway, she asked me to e-mail her the pics to put in a folder and she's going to have a friend download them on a disc for her. Thanks for your help :)
