Solved why i get charge the battery message with batt.full ?

Specs: Windows 7
my camera(canon ixus 180) keep turning off after a minute with a message charge the battery despite the battery being fully charged.
i tryed a new battery and it is the same
during the minute you can shoot pictures or video but the flash wont wok

Sadly many digital cameras seem to have battery issues; often after they are out of warranty too... Some simply won't charge - or even power up - even though the battery is OK and/or the charger is OK...

I think Nikon have a poor reputation in this regard; and certainly some of the Canon ranges too.

However - and a long shot at that... checkout settings etc. as per this dummies' link:

It may simply be that a setting there is interfering?

Equally are you certain the charger is OK; and that the "new" battery is actually fully charged
