I give you one exaple, this example is for a real video ending in flv- so why does the link ,end with an 'm' ?

The URL to a video doesn't have to end in the letters for the video type. The URL is simply pointing to where the video can be found. Whatever letters are at the end of the URL is decided by that website operator and the web server.

In other words, you are concerning yourself with something over which you have no control. Just forget about it.
