why do my pictures open in adobe

January 29, 2011 at 22:24:55
Specs: Windows 7
Since I purchased a new computer with Windows 7, I downloaded adobe acrobat 9.0. when I open my pictures, they automatically open in adobe acrobat. On my old computer, they automatically opened in Windows Media Player, I think. I looked at the Auto Play, and there is no option for Windows Media Player. I think that tool (Auto Play) works for when you're trying to download or access pictures from external media. If I use the option for opening with Windows Explorer or when I open pictures from "My Pictures" there is always an Adobe icon even though it's a JPG file.

Clive - thank you for your response. I went into "My Pictures" Properties and could find nothing to associate a program. I also went into the folder properties and could find nothing there either. I'm probably missing something.

Go to one picture, right click, properties, change, then choose a program to open with.

It should change all pictures with that file extension.

Thats for xp, not exactly sure for 7

A thank you would be nice, if I have helped.
