What I don't understand, if you burn it perfect and it won't play.
Why not save us all the guessing and tell us exactly how you made the video and which program you used and if the disc was finalized, etc....makes sense to me ;-)

thank you for replying but i should have said i don't know about computers as i am an old man and i am trying to get my head round it i used windows media player i captured my home movie on to my hard drive and then put it into my play list in media player and burned it after it stopped it says your DVD has been copied successfully
i am obvisley doing something wrong i am on windows 7

sorry, I have never burnt a movie using media player, maybe someone else has some insight into this.

I use different progs like showbiz 2 and adobe to make mine.

thank you for trying to help me i will have to learn more about how to use computers i know a lot of people have grown up with to days technology but its so hard when you get one and you know nothing about them

You shouldn't have to know that much about computers to do Video.
Here is what I do with my mpeg video.

When I need the space I burn a copy of my mpeg files and their playlist to a DVD. Along with a copy of my video player which is set to start and display the videos.

With a good backup set to auto-run and show the video. My data is pretty secure.

This makes it easy to distribute your videos to friends on DVD or USB Flash Drives.
