Please try to insert the CD into another computer and see what happens as well as insert some other CD in your PC. Also check if the CD is scratched.

I have sometimes found that if you copy a faulty disk, the copy works fine.
If you try this burn the new one at the lowest possible speed.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

there's this stuff - regettably I'm having a brain leak when it comes to the exact name of the stuff - i think it's plastex... and it can actually *sometimes* (really depends on what's wrong with your cd... is it just a little scratched or broken in half?) manage to spray in small scratches and repair your media (i only know this because i spend part of my working life photographing paintballers and this stuff fixes paintball masks, too). it won't work if the scratch is huge - too much data-loss (use USB flash drives. they're better, anyway.), but if you really, really need whatever is on the disc, it's worth a try... (you can get it at amazon)

AGAIN - this is a last-ditch solution that is likr 70-30% viable...
