Specs: Windows XP
I have had my jungle carpet python for 6 months now and have a pretty good setup for it.
however, at the moment I have 3 red 80watt bulbs on a thermostat to provide heat, which means they go on and off all through the night to regulate the temperature. i want my snake to be happy and i know that if i had those lights doing that all the time near me it would annoy me.
so whats the go? i keep reading about "photo periods".
I've seen ceramic heat emitters that screw in where the bulb goes as well which do the same thing but without the lighting.

I don't really think you've come to the correct forum for this sort
of information - the clue's in the title - try doing a Google for the
information you require or do a search for a site that has
information on reptiles. I believe 'photo period' is to do with

"I've always been mad, I know I've been mad, like the most of us..."

A device like a 'chill chaser' would provide warmth with out the
light. But they use less wattage. Maybe an electric heating pad
would work. Pads now have safety turn off feature that turns pad
off to prevent burns. There are other resistance heaters.
