Go to the Adobe website and see if there are any updates/patches for Premiere. Sometimes a patch will allow it to recognize more cameras. Please let us know if you found someone's advice to be helpful.
thanks i will try it
i am afraid that did not work either this is becoming stupid i can not find anyway to get my pc to recognize my camera i am now thinking should i buy another camera just to work as a deck
Is it just Adobe Premiere (CS5) that's not recognizing the camera, or does Windows also not see it? It should show up under "My Computer" if it's recognized by Windows. If Windows doesn't see the camera, then an update from Adobe won't fix it. I assumed it was a Premiere problem, from your first post. My bad.
Right-click "My Computer" and select "Manage". In the left pane of the pop up window, select "Device Manager". Are there any yellow exclamation marks showing?
If so, chances are you'll need to load a driver for the fire-wire card. A google search might find a suitable driver, however, if the PCI card is an older model, you could have problems finding a Win7 driver.
