Uncompressed DVD - VS - Compressed Blu-ray

Specs: Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate, 2.997 GHz / 4094 MB
If I had a DVD rip of a television show - a straight VOB rip without any compression - it would weigh in at about 800MB for every 20 minutes or so. If I were to take a Blu-ray of that same show and compress an episode down to about 800MB using H.264 encoding, which would look better?

tl;dr: Which looks better at a similar file size, uncompressed DVD or compressed Blu-ray?

A standard DVD's VOB's are compressed, they use the MPEG-2 format.

Blue Ray uses high def standards and there is a lot more info in a high def signal. So your answer would be a standard DVD would look better at 800 megs.
