Saving a gif file in Animation Shop 3 without optimizing?

Specs: Windows 7
I'm using an ancient animation prog., namely JASC's Animation Shop 3 to create a large four frame animated gif file (approx 500 x 400 pixels) for a website. It's simple to use, BUT, when I save the file it optimizes the hell out of the file, which finishes up far too grainy for use. My question is; how do I save a file in AS3 without having to go through the optimization process? Alternatively, can anyone recommend a gif animator where the optimization process can be bypassed, ignored or switched off when the completed file is saved? Thanks.

You must remember that there was no superfast broadband when Animation Shop 3 was released, so optimisation for web will result in a big reduction in quality to reduce file size in line with average internet speeds of the time.

You need an up-to-date equivalent.
