Problems downloading ITV Player videos

Microsoft Windows xp home edition

Specs: Windows XP, Intel dual Core/4g
I have a problem with ITV Player. I will use a specific example to pose the problems.
The length of the ITV Player video for the program Lewis was stated at 88 minutes and adverts were included in the video 4 times. On-air the program lasts 2 hours, (i.e.120 min).
When I captured the video using a video capture program it captures 88 minutes but the end of Lewis was not there and circles like downloading kept appearing.
The program date is 6/6/12. Is there any way of directly downloading iPlayer videos like the BBC player?
Can anyone explain these anomolies to me please?
Thank you.

Have you tried contacting support at ITV.com to see what they suggest? That might be the best first step.

It seems to me that the fault is with the video capture program you are using. Everything you stated about their website seems quite normal.

Tread a bit carefully about contacting ITV (as per #1). They are likely to regard downloading the program onto your HD as illegal, unless you are using a downloader that they provided for that purpose.

BBC do provide such a facility but the file cannot be transferred and only functions for a limited length of time - but I guess you know that.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

I'm glad that you appreciate the subtext of my comment. Perhaps this is not a fit subject to be discussed on this forum?

Yeah, maybe not.
