Solved Picasa photos - Why do my pictures disappear when deleting

Specs: Windows 7
Hello .I do hope you can help . I work on Picassa . Problem is I am trying to get a heap of photos
from my many folders into ALBUMS. When I attempt to delete the folders after that action they seem to disappear from both sites . I have to then recover same from the recycle bin . Im sure theres a simple answer and would appreciate your assistance Thank you Myra

I've an idea what be happening. Remember that picture files are NOT held in Picasa, or any such program. You only see reflections, links, to where the actual files are located (as often as not in "Pictures"). It is however true that Picasa and similar programs are capable of deleting the real files too.

One advantage of using Picasa for albums, rather than juggling folders and files in Windows, is that you can have a particular picture in more than one album without file duplication. It sounds like you are somehow deleting the source file. See this, particularly "Step 1":

You could of-course just keep both Picasa picture links in place - there's still only one set of "files".

Better say that I've edited my #1 quite a bit, so if you saw it in it's earlier stages it is now more focussed (hopefully).
