Specs: Windows 7
I am arranging the prefered viewing order of photo files within a folder in Picasa .When i load them onto a memory stick the viewing order is being changed somehow.I assume it is the date the photo was taken , that is being changed by the computer. Can anyone solve my problem please?

I'm assuming your photo files each have a number assigned by the camera if you haven't renamed them.

Windows uses those numbers to set the listing order which you see in the file window.
It has no idea what order you set in Picasa so it can't possibly list them in the same order as Picasa.

The order you set in Picasa applies only when they are viewed in Picasa.

Thankyou Phil.I had renamed them recently, but i am nervous about transferring them to a USB,because, they are of my Golden Wedding , and are from 4 different cameras, hence the viewing order .It took me over 3 hours to edit , and organise them. There are over 300 files.

Two things:

Rather than "transfer" them to a USB stick or HD, just "copy" them over. That will be a useful backup too.

When you are sorting files in Windows Vista onwards the system has an infuriating effect of automatically sorting them as you go. It was much easier on XP. However there is a neat little free program around that uses a different file manager with a facility to turn off auto-sort. Let me know if you need/want it and I'll give you the info and a link. I find it a must for the sort of task you have been doing.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
