Solved Nero video file convert to avi

Gigabyte / M61pme-s2p

Specs: Windows XP, 2.712 GHz / 2047 MB
I use Nero 2014 & I have made a video compilation file using Nero Video. I get the option to burn it onto a DVD however I want to convert it directly to avi format so I can watch that video on my LCD tv with the help of a pen drive.
If I try to convert a .vob file to .avi the video does not fit on the full screen of my tv as the video screen size is small.

Is there a way to convert the file directly to .avi?

Thanks.

I'm not sure what software you tried in doing the conversion. I did a google search for vob2avi and got quite a few hits. This one says it's freeware:

http://www.convertvobtoavi.com/

You might try that one and maybe some of the other free ones first and see which works best.

the above converter works really well...if you install it....be SURE to do a custom install and UNCHECK all the extras they want to install, one of them being conduit search...If you do a regular install then I would suggest using
AdwCleaner

to get rid of ALL unwanted toolbars etc
and then run
Malwarebytes

and fix all it finds

Converting a vob to avi has nothing to do with it not fitting full screen. You are trying to convert a video file on from a DVD which has a 4:3 aspect ratio, if your watching this on a modern flat screen, the aspect ratio will be 16:9.
