You need to go to the TV manufacturers website to find out what it does support.

There are several forms of avi, xvid divx, you need to re-encode the video to one playable by your particular model, of which you have providing no details leaving people here to guess.

A thank you would be nice, if I have helped.

AVI is just a container for video files that may be encoded with any one of a number of codecs. It's possible that the codec used on the video you tried to play isn't supported by the TV (perhaps some obscure, less-common codec).

Try a few AVI files, from different sources. If any of them play, you've likely found the problem.

gSpot, (a freeware program, google it) can be used to determine which codecs are used on audio and video files.

Please let us know if you found someone's advice to be helpful.

make sure your usb stick is formatted to FAT32, then check which format your avi files you're trying to play are, and use a different encoder (eg, if they are xvid, then try re-encoding using divx etc) also, my tv only recognises my usb if i have my files in a folder named Video, or Picture
