You can expect low quality footage from a digital camera, if it is designed for photographs, especially point 'n' shoot. Try searching in the options for quality or focus. How many MegaPixels are they?

Try recording a video, then turn off the camera and stick its memory card into your computer's memory card reader (providing you have one). If they don't look blurry anymore, then it's just a cheap/silly screen on the camera. If not, I guess clean the lens and/or check your quality/resolution settings.

I am guessing....

"can't seem to get clear images"
By this you are referring to individual frames of the video. A video is made of 30 individual images per second (if taken at 30fps) of which each indiviual frame is rarely not blurry but all 30 in a second together make a clear video.
