I'm looking for a player that can accomodate MPEG-2 audio codec as well as being able to play MP4 format videos. Any suggestions?

When was the last time you did something for the first time?

Thanks for the quick reply. I have downloaded VLC but it has a problem The screen shows hundreds of vertical lines accross the video. I have been prompted to download the new version but the problem persists. Regards. Dave

PS. I agree googling is quicker but I'm hoping to get views on first-hand experiences.

As much as I hate the Quickitme player, I have to admit it does a much better job at playing the MP4 format than VLC. I'm not sure about MPEG-2 audio, it's kind of an outdated format.
