Jpeg images go wonky

Seagate external hard drive UNKNOWN
April 15, 2010 at 17:06:33
Specs: Windows 7
Transferring images from dvd's, cd's, jump drives or even from main hard drive to a 1T external hard drive (months old) made them have grey painted over them or the images had stripes or were ruined-I went thru all of them and made them perfect again, just to have them revert back to useless images-now even more of them than before. Any suggestions?

your sub catagory says editing software. What software is that?

Also, if you have the same problem
'Transferring images from dvd's, cd's, jump drives or even from main hard drive to a 1T external hard drive'

Have you tried transfering some to a thumbdrive too?

It may be that your external drive is faulty if they transfer to a thumbdrive with no problems.

Some HELP in posting on plus free progs and instructions Cheers

Sorry for the delay in replying, but I had to work on other stuff (life). I have tested the external drives every which way and all test out ok. I am now becoming suspicous of the usb ports. I really don't know how to check them or if one can uninstall their useage and then reinstall? I have put photos on a thumbdrive-isn't that basically the same as a jump or travel drive? A few photos may not be perfect in that transfer-but then when put from thumb-jump-travel, onto any of the 3 externals, I have the same problem. Could it be cache size on the externals as these are 3-5 mb high quality photos and am transferring dozens or hundreds at a time. It just seems that straight forward copy or drag and drop shouldn't be such a nightmare-and it only happens with photos-not docs and such. This is making my eyes cross...Thanks for your input.
