How to convert Seattle FilmWork FD to a JPEG format?

July 17, 2017 at 22:04:46
Specs: Windows 10
I want to read Seattle Film Works picture files from old Floppy Disks and convert them to JPEG. I don't mind paying a reasonable price for the software.

What is the extension of the file you wish to convert? For example, if the file name is '', what is xyz?

--Yes but it's a dry heat.

Here's some info about the file format.

Irfanview can read those files and convert them to jpg. Irfanview is free and contains no adds or malware.

There's probably no need to read everything at in order to convert your Seattle Filmworks images from a floppy disk using a Win10 system.

First, go to the Quick solution Hints section at that SFW conversion portal.

1. Try "Quick Solution Hint #1", ie, Joe Nord's sfwjpg, if you are *not* constrained to using only Windows Store apps.

2. Else, try "Quick Solution HInt #2", ie, XnViewMP or XnView. I'm not sure if it is available as a Windows Store app.

3. Else, if your diskette has .sfw images *and* if they are all SFW94A format [ie, first 6 bytes of file data says "SFW94A"] **and NOT** SFW93A format [ie, first 6 bytes of file data says "SFW93A"], then you can use the Irfanview app which *is* available via Windows Store.

4. Else, pick one of the other Quick solution Hints shown at the .sfw conversion portal.

5. If you ever get here, then *now* it is time to resort to studying the more thoroughly.

This thread is 2-years old. It's highly unlikely that the OP is still looking for a solution at this point.

We've had several request for how to Convert Seattle Filmworks pictures,
I've used this thread before in place of having to re-write everything over again.

jonesrh_sfwwhichfmt has a complete web page dedicated to the problem
and his explanation here will help.
I have the thread bookmarked for easy retrieval for when the next person asks.
