|SOLUTION. IT actually "WORKED"|
I having a dell laptop
I have a HDMI output and a 3.5 mm on it. When ever i try to connect my lap to tv i send both audio and video to my TV
Bit i want to send audio to my surround sound speaker and video to my tv
I did this by disabling the audio in the HDMI.
to disable audio in hdmi
right click the the speaker in the taskbar. click play back settings
in the speakers tab, u will see your hdmi output. In this case i am seeing my Samung TV. Just disable it. So that the audio will never go VIA HDMI.
Now when u play the video the video will go to hdmi and audio will go via LAPTOP speakers
when u connect your headphones or 3.5mm jack cables now the audio will flow via the 3.5 mm jack. Now u can hook ur surround sound speakers or headphones to it .
THUS HDMI is splitted
