Specs: Windows 7
Would gimp have it stored on a temp. file? I did not save it to a thumbnail size. What about image history in Gimp?

Image History just stores a history of the editing steps so you can backtrack if necessary. When you close Gimp, the edits history is lost.

You should still have the original though so just redo the edits to it.

If you know the know the name of the edited file, use a local search tool to see if it exists somewhere on your hard drive. The built-in Windows 7 search tool is cr*p. Try Agent Ransack:

It is best to continue on your original post rather than start a new one. You can respond on there (as if replying). It is also better for new helpers because they might not be able to guess the background to this issue. Better keep an eye on both posts for now but it is possible one will get removed.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
