Solved coolpix l25 screen fault

Specs: Windows 7
the LCD screen on my coolpix L25 is half black. left side looking at it is black. the right side is perfect. do I need to replace my LCD ? thank you.

Its possible. Could be the LCD, cable, cable not fully seated, could be on the board.

If you have the tools, and want to take the risk... I would start with taking the LCD off, examining the cabling, reseating and seeing if the LCD works properly. Then take it from there..

Be very careful because fingers can zap electronic components by bridging from the high voltage stored in capacitors (for the flash). Medical rubber gloves might be an idea. Experience can sometimes be called "getting it wrong some time in the past". I have experience LOL.

Unfortunately capacitors can stay charged for hours. They can be discharged with a suitably calculated resistor but that's not the province of everyone.
