Solved Can't get scanner and camera wizard in W7

Specs: Windows 7
When I plug in my camera I just get told the disc needs formatting, which would delete everything on it! I used to use scanner and camera wizard to put photos into folders but it doesn't apparently exist in W7. The computer does not download the camera software CD and it is not listed on the maker's website. I can use a card reader and extract photos from the SD card, but cannot open a folder in Pictures to put them in. I have tried the suggestions in the forum but they don't work either. My new computer is only 95% useful without this feature so I have to keep the old one running. Can it be extracted from XP? I would dearly love it back again.

In Windows 7 you have Windows Live Photo Gallery - if it isn't already installed, it comes as an update or you can download as part of Windows Live Essentials.

Creating a folder in Pictures is easy, just click on the 'New Folder' button just above the main window and name it as you wish, then drag & drop your photos from the card into the folder.

Have tried driver scan but it tells me my camera doesn't need a driver!
Have found Windows Live Picture Gallery which seems to do what the old Photo Loader used to do, post pictures on a monthly basis. It's odd - sometimes it comes up and sometimes it tells me to insert a CD in some drive that I've not heard of. However at least I can download my pictures, so thanks very much for the info (I am not an instinctive computer user, unlike my son, but he is 30 miles away).
The rest I will have to do by transferring pictures to folders manually. I still miss the wizard, why do MS make life so difficult?
