I am probably in the wrong place but this didn't seem to fit elswhere.

For a few years now I have been recoding t.v. shows on a dvd recorder and using DVD+RW discs to transfer to my computer. For about 3 years or almost anyway I have been using the same 15 discs Maxell 4 X DVD+RW they are getting a bit wore out. The stuff I put on DVD to keep always went on Verbaitim DVD-R in the computer with very few coasters over the 3 year period. Gone through about 500 verbaitim discs doing this.

I have not had a problems or apparent loss of quality but I have noticed here lately the transfer seem to be slowing down a bit between the DVD+RW and the computer and then the conversion of the files would slow down as well. Being it was only these discs that I was seeing the slow down with I assumed it was time for new ones. I bought the old ones at walmart of all places. This time I went for quality with Verbaitim 4 X DVD+RW from Newegg. Every single one of the 30 pack when placed in the dvd recorder would ask me to format the disc as before with the Maxell however at the end of the format I get "Disc Problem" with all 30 of them. I tried all in the computer. The computer recognized them but I could not burn to them without formattting and the formatting could not be completed. So I RMA'd them back to Newegg and went back to walmart. They don't have any Maxell at my store so I buy Memorex. Guess what!!!!!!! All 25 of them same exact problem. What the heck??

My burner in my computer plays every other disc I put in it and burns every other disc I try including the older wore out Maxells. At any rate i will not buy anymore media online. Sure I get my money back less this fee and that fee. To heck with that.

Anyways now I am not sure what to do I have not found anyone local that has maxell.

Likely

I want to go like my grandfather did. Peacefully in his sleep. Not screaming at the top of my lungs like the passengers in his car.
