Why can't my HP PC connect to my Sharp HDTV?

Specs: Windows Vista
HP Slimline Paviion s3700z connects just fine to Samsung monitor, but PC can't detect Sharp Aquos LC-46LE810UN HDTV. TV can't detect the PC either.

Video card is GeForce 9300 GE with VGA and DVI out ports

Connection to monitor is VGA. works fine.

Connection to TV is DVI to HDMI adapter and 20' of HDMI cable.

There is your problem. Digital Signals can not travel long distances like Analog VGA uses Analog.

You are right at the max length for DVI. Try a shorter cable or get a Video Card that supports HDMI which can go up to 98ft...

Thank you.

The tv has (4) hdmi and (1) 15 pin VGA input ports.

Can I convert DVI to VGA?
