What are your requirements? Do you have to run certain software?

The classical method is to work from the job output, then the software, then the hardware. After factoring the limitations and compromises you will have a good idea of what is best choice.
For your funds I feel you can get a high mid performance machine, My preference would be to get 2 low mid machines, as I prefer redundancy to performance. Unless there is a specific need.

Rereading your first line in your post - 'good looking' shows that you have no real objective except price.

thanx.,
But in the academic view we need to code in c++ or java, and that can be done on any machine. And in addition I need a system to go through the online books and video lectures. Though any laptop can meet this need, I thought of buying a better one available, since buying an ordinary one , then after 2 years not getting satisfied with it, reselling it, buying a new one again would not be financially preferrable. So I posted to know what are the laptops available.
If you think its not a good idea then suggest me wat to do., else let me know the laptops which meet the needs later. By the way I'm studying computer science engineering,2nd year.
