SonyVGN-N130G laptop to Sony Trinitron 27

Specs: Windows XP

I try to connect Sony VGN-N130G laptop to Sony Trinitron 27" TV which has RCA ports in the front as well as back. I bought a VGA to RCA (red, blue, green) cable and connected to the back of the TV.
I see the laptop getting connected to the TV, but the TV shows multiple images of the laptop screen with blurred images. I guess it should be some kind of setting problem, I tried to trouble shoot but nothing worked out. I would appreciate If I get some help on this.

The red blue and green rca outs indicate it is a component cable.
Does your Sony have a component input? Most of the Sonys I've seen only have a composite input with yellow (for video) and red and white (for audio).

My sony TV has composite input with yellow white and red ports, however, it doesn't recognize when I connect using this. I also tried to connect through the S-Video cable. It doesn't work.

Composite and component are two different formats, you cannot connect a component cable to composite inputs.
