Specs: Windows XP
Sandisk Sansa MP3 player just quit playing. Hooking up to computer to recharge did nothing. Screen remained black. Can't turn back on.

You don't state which model, but generally there's little you can do to repair these.
No user-servicable parts in them.

Is there a micro SD card in it? Have you tried removing/replacing the SD card and see if it shows signs of life?

Maybe a reset:

Other than what Peet said, your only option would be to send in the player to the manufacturer and have them replace it.

It is a Sansa MP3 player. I read something that says you push the on/off switch in and it kinda reboots. Tried that several times with no-go. So I left it hooked up and started doing some other work. Took a glance over, after about 5 minutes, and it was up and charging! Previously, at times, when I turned it on, all the print was scrambled! Syncing usually solved that problem. And yes, I do have an SD card in it. I removed it and tried turning it on, but no-go. Put it back in and left it hooked up to the pc. After 5 minutes, it was charging.
Thanks so much for the comebacks!! It's great to have my music back!
